Ruth Pate Memorial Nursing Scholarship

The Ruth Pate Memorial Scholarship was established to support nursing students at Tidewater Community College.

Scholarship award criteria are as follows:

• Student must be pursing a nursing degree at TCC’s Portsmouth Campus
• Student may be attending full-time or part-time
• Student must demonstrate financial need
• If a continuing student at TCC, student must have an overall GPA of 2.5 and a GPA of 2.8 in the nursing curriculum
• If a new student at TCC, student must have a high school GPA of 2.8
• Student must submit a brief essay describing their commitment to nursing and their professional goals related to a career in nursing
