Jonathan R. Payton Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2008 by Dr. Winifred Reid in memory of her son, Jonathan, who was a TCC student before he passed away in 2006. The scholarship will be awarded for students to purchase books for classes they are attending at the Chesapeake Campus of TCC.

Criteria:

• Student must be pursuing a degree at Tidewater Community Colleges Chesapeake campus

• Student can be attending full-time or part-time

• Student must have not have met the cost of attendance for the year

• If a continuing student at TCC must have an overall GPA of 2.7. or higher

• If a new student at TCC must have a high school GPA of 2.8. or higher

• Preference will be given to a student who is returning to school after a hiatus or a student who is a single parent
